What's a Home Ed day?
Ever wondered what a Home Ed day is all about? Well, it’s a special day just for families who rock the homeschooling scene! Picture this: a day at the attraction without the hustle and bustle of school groups (yep, no school bookings allowed!). Plus, we’ve cooked up some extra fun stuff tailored just for kids who would be in Years 1 to 9 if they were in school.
• Full access to the galleries (including under 7’s areas)
• A mix of bookable and drop-in activities for children aged 5yrs+
• 10% discount in the Gift Shop all day (only available on the day and to booked HE families)
• 10% discount off the Eureka! Annual Pass (only available on the day and to booked HE families). This must be purchased before 3pm on the day.

🐉 Book on arrival: The Legend of Nian Show!
Chinese New Year celebrations are a riot of colour and noise, but where does this come from? Discover the origins of Chinese New Year in our storytelling performance and make lots of noise with us to scare off Nian, the legendary monster!
📖 Drop-in Session – Magical Story Jars!
This child led learning session has been designed specifically for home educators. During the session there is the opportunity to discuss the story mountain and how to write incorporating the five senses. Magical Story Jars are used to gather ‘story ingredients’ and describing words to use in their stories. An assortment of objects is made available to help children get hands on by incorporating some of them into their writing. Time is allocated to enable learners to plan and structure their stories. All learning styles are catered for with a hands-on experiential learning menu and accompanying resources that offer various different ways to create stories.
