We’re open from Wednesday to Sunday in term time, and every day in the school holidays!
Loads! We expect visitors will spend about 2 – 3 hours at Eureka! Science + Discovery. Everything is hands-on and interactive. You can explore the building and some of our exhibits on our gallery pages. Check out What’s On for additional activities and programmes too.
Everyone! Well, we would say that, wouldn’t we! Eureka! Science + Discovery has been created for children and young people aged up to 14, but we’re open to all ages and grandad will have as much fun as the kids. There’s a separate space just for our younger visitors in The Burrow zone in the terminal building, but your tickets get you access to all areas in both buildings. If you’re not visiting with young people, you may want to pop along to one of our Lates events (when we’ll have a bar… shhhh).
If you’ve bought a full price ticket (i.e. not using Tesco days out vouchers) then you already have an annual pass – how good is that? All you need to do to use it is to Activate it online. When you book, you’ll receive an email explaining how to do this. Activating your annual pass means you can come back again as many times as you like for free for the next 12 months – but you still need to book online in advance. Annual passes are not transferable, so they can only be used by the people who visited initially. If you visited Eureka! Science + Discovery using Tesco days out vouchers, you are not eligible for the annual pass.
Nope. If you know Eureka! The National Children’s Museum in Halifax, you’ll recognise the Eureka! approach to doing things throughout your visit to Eureka! Science + Discovery, but you won’t see the same exhibits. We’ve grown things up a bit for Eureka! Science + Discovery and have developed and designed a science centre for young people, rather than a children’s museum. You’ll have the same great time though!
If you have upgraded your annual pass to Eureka! Unlimited then it’s a yes! Head over to your annual pass dashboard and you can make a booking for Eureka! Science + Discovery there (it’s the one with the picture of Luna the cat!)
If you just have the standard annual pass for Eureka! The National Children’s Museum then it’s a no, sorry. The two attractions are separate venues, and your pass is not transferable between the two.
Nope. Tesco Clubcard points are for day passes only, so we recommend this option if you’re looking to try the attraction out before you commit to an annual pass, or perhaps if you’re visiting from far away and don’t think you’d make full-use of an annual pass. If you would like an annual pass, you will need to purchase a standard ticket.
Nope! You no longer need to book for The Burrow.
Main things to know:
– The Burrow is suitable for children under 7 years of age
– Grown ups must supervise their children at all times
The Burrow FAQ’s
– Does The Burrow have an additional cost?
Nope! The Burrow is included in your general admission.
– Can we go straight to The Burrow, or do we have to come to main admissions desk?
If you have a booking you can head straight over to The Burrow with your barcode and go straight in. If you’re a walk-up you will still need to head over the Main Hub to purchase your tickets.
– Is there a time limit in The Burrow?
Nope, however typical dwell time seems to be between 60 – 90 minutes.
– I have more than one child with me – can my older children come into The Burrow?
Yes, if the older child has a sibling that is the right age for The Burrow, they are welcome to come and play with their sibling. Alternatively, they can stay in the main attraction with another adult, or if they are over 12 they can stay in the main attraction unaccompanied as long as an emergency contact number is provided to the Information Desk.
– Are there toilets in The Burrow?
Yes, there are toilets in The Burrow along with baby changing facilities.
– Can I take food into The Burrow?
No. It’s a beautiful, brand new space and we want to keep it that way! The Café is right next door. There are indoor picnic spaces available if you would like to bring your own lunch.
We do advise you to take a drink in for your little one as it’s a very active space.
– Do you host Birthday parties in The Burrow?
Not just yet – keep an eye open for updates!
