As an independent charity, the income generated from our venue hires supports our educational programmes and exhibition experiences. The Icebreaker 20–30 minutes | Perfect at the start of your day. A fast-paced, energising activity designed to instantly break down barriers and get your team talking. Great for kick-offs, training days, or groups that don’t know each other well.

The Energiser 45 minutes | A hands-on burst of creativity. Take on a playful Eureka! challenge—think mini engineering tasks, creative problem-solving, or team-based missions. Ideal for resetting the room mid-agenda.

The Innovation Lab 60–90 minutes | Our most popular team experience. A deeper, facilitated challenge that blends creativity, STEM thinking, and collaboration. Expect laughter, teamwork, and a real sense of achievement.

Exclusive or after-hours, tailored | Your team gets exclusive access to the museum for a private, unforgettable experience. Ideal for celebrations, networking, client events, or premium away days. You bring the ideas, we’ll help you build an unforgettable event.

The Johnson Foundation Theatre

A 90 capacity theatre-style space, with retractable raked seating:

  • – Lectern and microphones 4x lapel mic, 2x handheld mic, 1x catchbox mic (Catchbox mic?? it’s fun, trust us!)
  • – Epson projection 5 metre screen
  • – Ampetronic C5 Hearing Loop
  • – 3 light settings: disco, presentation and normal

MakeCreate

This is a really informal flexible space with lots of set up options – theatre style, workshop, boardroom or just standing! Direct access to the car park with double doors opening onto the waterfront.

Community Space

Ideal for all sorts of events, get togethers, presentations, seminars, workshops or meetings. The Community Space is a blank canvas, with double doors direct to the car park, and literally 20 steps from the ferry pontoon.
